The first few times I listened to this album I thought it was just ok because i have a tendency to listen to the beats and sorta ignore the words. After a few more careful listens, I really like this album because i feel that Doom is at his best lyrically. i also love the beats but I have found that some people find them "hard to listen to" (a lot of them are very simple and extremely repetetive). Its a really funny album though
"(Apani) I'd rather masturbate than **** with Vik Vaughn, (Doom) Let me watch" and he has a lot of clever one liners. Its not my favorite Doom album, but it certainly is one of his best. |

"so shook i think he shit his sean john suit"
"i told the littler monster -no i aint ur father it uncle viktor now turn the lights off im getting dizzy and shut the door, can't you see yo momma busy" one of the few rappers i can just quote off my head, it's like the world of deltron from a burn-out reject. It some ways its way more believable Somewhere's out in cop killin Queens The bo deans stop limousines and niggaz flee the scene |

So .. I was waiting for Vaudeville Villain to 'drop' as soon as I heard about it. When I saw the cover art, I knew I'd buy the CD asap and I did.
About 60 seconds into the album (or about 30 seconds into the first real song) I was already more initially intrigued than I had been by any other hip-hop album. The rest of the album held up as well; very few weak moments. This is one of those magic-feeling albums on which just about every song resonates with me and did so immediately. It's still probably my favorite-ever rap album.

I listened to it a few times. An enjoyable album and one of the best Doom projects I have heard(probs fourth behind Mmmm Food, Madvillainy and The Mouse And The Mask). Some very amusing quips in there.

I have only listened to it once but I loved the track "Let Me Watch" Apani was keeping up with him lyrically....it was nice to hear them playing off each other so well.

I'll add that this album made me a believer that Doom is the smartest/best lyricist of all.
Here's one of his many bizarrely great rhymes on the album. From 'A Dead Mouse': Quote:
