Ray Charles
DISCLAIMER: I know Ray Charles isn't Rap or Hip Hop, but in the description for this, it says:
"Discuss Rap, Hip-Hop, R&B, and all urban music." Anyway, I've always loved a Ray Charles' voice, but during the semester, at the beginning of December, I looked up songs to listen to when you have a hungover, because I was... well... you know. And one of the songs on one of the lists was "Georgia on my Mind." I listened to it for days upon days, almost nonstop after that and now I'm hooked. My sister bought me two of his albums for Christmas (as well as the movie with Jamie Foxx in it) and now I love him even more. I do think I like his live versions better than the recorded ones, but they're all great. Anyone else like/love him or am I too far gone? |

I've spent a lot of the last couple of days listening over and over again to "What'd I Say," largely because I have been studying 12 bar blues and the opening is about as perfect an example as you're ever going to hear.
Yeah, Charles is awesome. |
