I still have a hard time wrapping my head around the love for NWA. It seems like some (or too many) people like them because of what and who they are associated with, rather than the music they made. Rarely do I hear anything about how 'I like their lyrics' or 'I like their beats' or any of the ways fans appreciate a rap group. I hear too much 'Oh! They have the n-word in their name!' and 'They sang about fucking the police!', or 'Dre was in that group!'.

I find their rapping to be average at best, the beats vanilla, the overall package package extremely boring and NWA sounding incredibly gimmicky. The lives the guys in the group left are hardcore and real, I won't deny that. But, NWA? A novelty act.

Maybe I'm just cynical, but I don't get it.
