It depends what sort of style you like to be honest mate but the best starting point would be those from 2002-2005 (so that would be Ruff Sqwad, Roll Deep, Wiley, Dizzee, Slew Dem etc), that was the golden era for Grime. The best Grime is found on sets, not tracks or albums, it's not a genre that is based on intelligence or discographies, traditionally it was more about live music, spontaneity and aggression.
If you like more intelligent lyrics then Random Impulse and P-Money might be of interest to you, here is a track from each: Random Impulse - Masks - YouTube P-Money - 1 up - YouTube My personal favourite artists are Wiley, Trim, Dizzee, Big H and Crazy Titch. Conflict DVD (Part 1) HD - YouTube ^ That set is like the holy grail of Grime sets for me, you can't really get a better example of Grime music and Grime at it's peak than that video (and the other parts). Hope that helps Same here, although I liked Showtime as well. Anything after that has been crap. |

Considering we're talking about hip hop artists in general I'd say El-P is one of the best out there and certainly my favourite, because he's not just a great MC but an awesome producer as well. One and one makes two, aye?
