Matious is right. Mobb Deep have done nothing good in years, not since the mid-90s probably. So it wasn't even the G-Unit switch that necessarily threw them off, it just made matters worse.

The best thing put out by either member of Mobb Deep since the 90s is Prodigy's Return Of The Mac. Unfortunately the dude got himself locked up in jail mid-late late year, so his album that came out recently is probably not what it was supposed to be in the first place. But it still seems pretty good. Prodigy was always the better rapper anyway, Havoc is, to put it kindly, not good.

I'm disappointed that so few people have commented on Prodigy's HNIC pt.2. Has nobody even listened to it or something? I think it's the best rap record out this year. Certainly the most brilliantly produced, anyway. Alchemist f'kin rules. The music is so very dark and sinister, it's an instant winner. And P's style is spot on, if the rhymes are sometimes wanting (he's still one of the most talented rappers out there).

Listen to it. Seriously. It's a whole lot better than most of you would expect.

But yea... I like the Mobb. Remember those subliminal threats P issued to Nas on the video for the song Mac 10 Handle off Return of the Mac?
So like, have you heard HNIC pt.2?

Hopefully never. Anything after Murda Muzik has been crap. I think Prodigy is in prison and his solo album this year was better than his previous attempts.

I've really been into the Infamous and Hell On Earth lately. Such classic albums. Havoc's production was bonkers!
