Default Queen Latifah

Way back in the early nineties, before she was an actress, she was a helluva good hip hop artist. All Hail The Queen and Black Reign are seminal must haves for hip hop fans imo. Her rapping is very demanding of attention, you can't NOT listen to her, and the production is hot stuff. Decent singer too.

She was actually pretty damn good. Its sad that she got all corporate and started making romantic comedies.

Yep Bringin Down the House is hilarious. I actually think she does a better job acting than she did rapping.

Ladies First is a damn fine track but it's the only track I have and ever heard (that I know of). Did she make a solid, listenable album then?

Do any of you people remember the version of "Fame" she did with David Bowie?
