I gotta check out the new album
idk about that. Lately he always seems to be trying to legitimize himself because he feels like others don't take him seriously. Trying to make himself sound more authentic.

Yeah he seems to take himself WAAAAY too seriously for my liking, whilst not actually making any serious music. Until this album of course.

He doesn't help himself for severity when he puts on voices and chuckles through his own punch lines.
I'ma give his new record a chance because I grew to like his verse on Acid Rap.
Not expecting anything particularly outstanding mind you.

I'm really only familiar with his earliest work like the EP and Camp. I do see what you mean about him being serious but sometimes it seems like hes just goofing around.

I don't know if it was because I was a combination of drunk and tired when I listened to it. But I thought Because The Internet was great.

lyrically it sounds forced and contrived. He's still doing hyper references and semblance of the former drake/lil wayne impersonation, which originally sounded kinda coy and jokey but is now all serious. Overproduced. Its not bad, and can understand the appeal but thats just my reaction
