I'm trying to find more bands like these that actually have a meaning, nothing about cars and girls and new commercialized stuff. Any ideas are welcome. Thanks

 Try ProEra they're an amazing up-coming rap group. You could also try city lights they're decent when you want to escape the garbage we accedentily marked as hip hop.

Not a recommendation but not really thread worthy; I don't like 50 Cent too much but this track is fucking hard, I like violence on tracks and he does it well here imo. Used to hammer this album in school.

I've always disliked that song. I got sick of the "Imma shoot you so gangsta where's my glock??" shallow songs a long time ago. And really in 50 cent's case, I just thought it made him seem like a poser.

In his defense he really is street and really that stupid of a human. I just find his raps kind of glib and monotone. He really doesn't seem that polished a rapper to me, but hes sold trillions to hes laughing at me all the way to the bank in his lamborghini.

Fair enough about the street thing but I still think he overuses it.

he raps about what he knows about and I don't see that as a fault. Plus , his fans love his earlier more street stuff and his mixtapes more than his official releases that just HAVE to have songs for the ladies on it.

That track is hard, some good lines in there, and it does have some nostalgic value for me as well. Hip-Hop is full of exaggerations anyway so I don't see the problem there. Biggie was never in the mafia, Eminem doesn't really have 80 pound balls and Big L never bombed any churches. Most of these guys are fake. 50 does at least have a criminal record and contact with firearms.

If I heard that track for the first time now I wouldn't like it, I don't actually rate 50.

Can I be so narcissistic as to recommend my own music?

No.

lol. Fair enough - it's cheesey anyway and I'd much rather be a listener than a talker. I wanna find good music and share in a like-minded community.

Sup?
