Also check out Slave Riot by Young Jazz Rebels. Very cool left-field Hip Hop that's jazzy.
And if you already haven't, listen to Aesop Rock's Labour Days and Madvillainy by Madvillain (or any MF DOOM related project). |
Not really much into rap but there's a few I'm partial on:
Beastie Boys Public Enemy Cypress Hill The Roots De La Soul and Fugees are ok too. |
@Frownland, I forgot to mention with the Dose One stuff ... his project 13 & God is pretty dang good. Their latest album came out in 2011. I like the old and new alike, so whatevers clever.

Thanks Mrdood, I'll definitely check that out along with the rest of his stuff that I can find. And Goofle, I checked out that Aesop Rock album at work yesterday and really dug it, thanks for the rec.

Labor Days is my #1 pick for Aesop also. It's in my top 3 albums of all time.

geesh louis bro top 3?
it's a nice concept album but i don't even regard it as his best work, not by a lot. For me it goes Float Bazooka Tooth none shall pass labor days |
Come off it Sparky bro... My favourite Hip Hop album, closely followed by "Liquid Swords".
Glad you liked it Frown, real grower as well considering how complex his lyrics are. |
this is my number 1 i don't care how obvious it is
