Vol. 2: Vintage - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
J Dilla - Vol. 2 Vintage Donuts gets all the credit but this is as good as anything he's made imo. One of my favourites of his, along with Old Donuts and obviously The Shining. |

Looking for help with a party playlist!
Hey guys, I'm new around here and looking for some song suggestions for a house party.. the best way I can describe it is American college party style music, not T-Pain or auto tuned music though.
The sort of song I'm looking for is rap/hip hop with a decent amount of bass and mid to fast paced rapping. I was watching an episode of Community and this song called "Jacques Slade - Nightcap" (It's on youtube but I can't post links) was on at a college party type scene, this is the type of thing I'm looking for but with lyrics that aren't jokey ofcourse! Any help is hugely appreciated! |
1. MC Hammer - Can't Touch This
2. Sir Mix-Alot - Baby Got Back Then just put it on repeat. |
^^
And get strippers |
Check out these songs:
Doin' it - LL Cool J Buggin Out- A tribe called quest Got Your Money-Ol'Dirty Bastard Hip Hop Hooray-Naughty By Nature I Got 5 on it-Luniz Jump Around-House of Pain Paid in Full-Eric B & Rakim Tennessee- Arrested Development Still Dre-Dr. Dre Stay Fly-Three 6 Mafia |
late 80s, into very early 90s hiphop. not quite as autotunes, lyrics that dont just repeat themselves (for the most part) do a little digging in that area if you dont just wants todays stupid ass repetative BS. (although for a modern college house party depending on the group of people, you may be better off with just going top 40 pop/hiphop to please the crowd)

All of these, in a constant loop.

This is pretty good. |
I recommend Dilated Peoples (but I don't know if they still exist). They had many great songs between 2003-2004. Their songs were very meaningful and philosophical. Check out some of their tracks on youtube.com. "Worst comes to worst" is still an excellent track.

This guy has been getting a lot of my attention lately. Psychedelic hip hop FTW.

Hey ya'll, I'm on the lookout for more hard-hitting, noisy hip hop along the lines of Death Grips, RATKING, or even Public Enemy. I don't have a lot of rules, it just needs to be pounding and deadly and ready to rock in my ear drums. Weirdness is encouraged.

Is this what you are looking for? Check out their first three albums especially Absence. for weirdness you might like marijuana deathsquads |

Everything by Kanye West & avoid Kendrick Lamar at all costs.

For me, I love listening to cats like Bizzle (who's new album actually just dropped today), Lecrae, KJ-52, Andy Mineo, The Ambassador, etc. All of them are quality artists with a quality message behind their lyrics. I got tired of that money cash, no-mo for me too a long time ago.
Hope you enjoy the artists I mentioned, lemme know what you think! Cheers |
Two Words... Nipsey Hussle.

Mississippi and Cadillac on 22s are a couple of favorite. Mississippi Delta |
Big Wax- from the west coast great lyrics and has pretty catchy/feel good songs.
Palmer Squares- Two kids from Chicago they have some of the best lyrics/rhyme schemes ive ever heard. downfall to these guys is they have no real direction/substance in the song. Flight Distance- My buddy got me on this Canadian hip hop group and I got their album which in my opinion was great. lyrical content, flow delivery and had some interesting songs/topics |
Well the recent hip hop which I heard of and would like to recommend to all other hip hop fans is ‘Around The Block’ by Pretty Lights.

Just started really getting into Itch, rapper from the UK. Definitely not the stereotypical rap artist, has kind of a punk feel (esp in his new song with the singer of Taking Back Sunday called "Homeless Romantic")

jay drops another classic verse, starts @ 1:22 (i recommend passing right by mac) |
Female Rap Artist Recommendation
