I think "You Ain't No DJ" would have been better without Yelawolf.
He's just not that great, in my opinion.

The Big Boi album, however, is absolutely fantastic.

Try Everlast. He didn't like where rap was going, so he picked up a guitar and added some bluesy guitar riffs to his already meaningful lyrics.

The Retar Crew. They're really funny and have awesome beats. They have a channel on youtube: /user/Theretarcrew (can't post links yet, but just add that on after . com)

I was wondering if someone could help me out here. I'm lookin for some good hip-hop/rap that was released in the second half of the 00's (2005-2009). I have three albums so far which are: AESOP ROCK- None Shall Pass (2007), BLU & EXILE- Below The Heavens (2007) and CUNNINLYNGUISTS- A Piece Of Strange (2006). I was hoping for someone to recommend a few more albums to check out from this timeline.

I have heaps of albums from the 90's, as well as a number from the early 00's (2000-2004). I'm looking for more hip-hop/rap albums from the back half mainly because I want rap to stay relevant to me and a lot of the stuff I hear just seems to be a repetitive act from the preceded years.

get The Mouse & The Mask by Danger Doom that was 2005

Murray’s Revenge by Murs & 9th Wonder(2006)

IDK if you are a Clipse fan or not but you should definitely have this album
Til The Casket Drops by Clipse(2009)

Blue Collar by Rhymefest(2006) a very slept on artist...definitely underrated.

This might not have been one of Atomsphere's best offerings but it was decent
When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That **** Gold by Atmosphere(2008)

Ultimate Victory by Chamillionaire(2007) everyone judges Cham for his singles but if you ever listen to one of his albums from start to finish, you will see he is much more talented than just his singles.

try those out first then get back to me if you need more I have plenty more suggestions

I have the same reason for disliking him, that I do for disliking MF Doom.
I don't like their voices.

understandable.....sometimes I don't like artists because of their cadence/voices also

I've only heard it sampled for Girl Talk and the Big Boi/Black Keys mashup, but I like what I have listened to.... Definitely will be checking out the album in its entirety.
