Can't believe no ones recommended Bone Thugs n Harmony yet! Not listened to these guys in a while but they used to be all I'd listen to a couple of years ago.

Just wait until Bizzy Bone drops his verse at 1.47

and then how could I forget their song with 2Pac

Unreal rap group, so so so good!

The interesting part is that after a couple songs I had written them off as sort of a novelty rap act that I expected to turn off soon and probably never listen to again. But by then I was enraptured - couldn't/can't stop listening. Thanks!
I downloaded that album a week or two ago, and though it seems promising, I have to admit it hasn't totally clicked with me so far.

I really didn't think it would click with me either. But I couldn't turn it off because the raps became infectious and I wanted to hear what they were going to say next. After a few songs like that I was sort of hooked. Some of their songs are too long and repetitive and silly. But mostly I find their lyrics fascinating and the beats are good enough - especially on the recent one. We'll see how long the love lasts though, they are kind of a novelty act no matter how you look at it.

I've been listening to the mixtape nonstop since reading this thread. I love the intro to "all tan everything"

"white people can't even go out into the sunlight without getting a disease"

Just put out a new album. There's some previously released stuff on there, and it's not full length, but it's real good. Features folks like Unsung and Emancipator.

and after that he mumbles.. 'what good is that?..'

Those flourishes are what I love about Das Racist.

Personally I like the song where he says something about "Costanza dicks". Though it's kind of lame that he immediately explains the joke.

Yeah, it's hit-and-miss. But I'm fascinated with the way they just flow on forever and ever. They say so many funny/clever/insightful things in there among the stupid things that it's like hearing a good stand-up comedian who walks the line between satire and serious social criticism.
