I respect the hell out of those guys, but I certainly wouldn't even put Ice Cube anywhere near my top 50. BIG may crack the top 20, Busta - maybe Top 30...but Ice Cube really never impressed me all that much. I mainly respect him because I thoroughly enjoyed Boys N Da Hood.

You guys have to remember that Cube had the rhyming skills, the intensity and the style to be a top MC.
****, he was the playmaker for NWA and when he walked from the group, they were never the same. Cube at one point was the be all and end all of hip-hop especially west coast hip-hop, however he let himself slip and the one time Compton Polices most wanted rapper became a mere shadow of himself, parodying himself in some awful movies. This failed venture into acting as well as some sloppy releases led to a decline in Cube's popularity and credibility but you can't deny his earlier work. And if there are people on here still talking as if Eminem and Jay-Z are two 'greats' then they should definitely put Cube in that category as he has had much the same climax in terms of quality of production as well as credibility within the hip-hop underground yet seems to get blasted for it way more than Em or Jigga. |

I don't think anyone thinks Jay Z is one of the greatest, but he is certainly above Ice Cube.

Are you kidding?
Look at what Rolling Stone thinks of him:Jay-Z | Bio, Pictures, Videos | Rolling Stone Or when MTV put him down as the GOAT: MTV.com: The Greatest MCs Of All Time Jay has headlined festivals and had sold out tours throughout the world, it's clear many people rate him as one of the greats, but in terms of what he's actually done for hip-hop, not what he's done for himself, Cube > Jigga. |

You said "people on here" to be fair. You would have to be a lunatic to think nobody rates Jay-Z.

But nobody cares what those guys think, because they aren't posting now (apart from Big3, who does post...).
