I'd say Wu and its members are responsible for better rap music than NWA.

Wu-Tang is by far better than NWA, in my opinion.

Hell, Wu-Tang could lose a few members and still be better than NWA.

The members of NWA went on to have FAR more successful solo careers. But as far as group cohesion goes, I'd have to give it to Wu-Tang as well. Not saying that the members of the group are better or bigger than NWA, but they just fit well and won't together wonderfully.
