Eminem is really annoying.

The Game? Really?

Dr. Dre's record is probably going to suck, based on his work in 2009.

If Distant Relatives drops this year (Nas & Damian Marley) I'll probably check it out.
I agree with all of this minus the BTNH comment.

Drake is part of hip hop's upswing?
ewww...no

Drake is much more overrated than Lil' Wayne ever was. At least Lil' Wayne has some ability to him.

I am, but I'm not going to say it's resurrecting Hip-Hop.

I'd consider arguing this with you but I've been down this road before and it always ends on "well music is based on subjective opinions" so I'm just going to spare us both and say

fuck you.

(*belch noise*) The war is wrong, and if I get killed now, you know why it happened? It's because I had the BALLS, the GUTS to be the ONE person in entertainment to speak out against the war! (*vomit noise*) Here are some Michael Jackson jokes I heard ten years ago. "Boy -- oops! I mean "girl"! HA HA! (*belch noise*) I'm so angry at that guy who does that insult dog puppet character. I think I'll make fun of that guy, but without being funny at all, because somewhere along the line I completely lost my sense of humor. "I keed! I keed!" And the rest of this song makes NO SENSE AT ALL! (*vomit noise*) Look how crazy and wacky I am! I'm crazy! My weenie is bigger than yours! To say that, I must be CrAzY! (*belch noise through an effects processor*) I never meant to make anybody die. I grew up without a father! I was white, and black people didn't like me. Don't you feel sorry for me and my sad youth? Here, let me talk about ****ing some girl. Also, let me take care to not make a single ****ing one of these songs [musically interesting.] Yeah! I'll fill them all with slow clunky beats and simplistic synth "riffs" that sound like Dr. Dre b-sides from the early '90s! Also, I totally and completely suck now!

I agree completely. Like, Nas is pretty much always pretty good, technically, but he's never really as interesting as he can be. I'm usually willing to check out his work, though.

And J. Cole... Yeah, I know. I want to see what he's going to do, too (I mean, Jay-Z usually supports good artists), but I'm not expecting much. He just comes off as a normal mixtape rapper to me. Maybe one who's got a tad more charisma than your average boring underground rapper, but he's just never seemed creative enough to hold my attention. He's definitely not the rapper who's going to "save hip hop." Not that hip hop needs to be saved, anyway.

Resurrected? From what? It's been "cool" to like hip hop since around the early 90s.
