Wu Tang - 36 Chambers
Dr Dre - The Chronic
Notorious BIG - Ready To Die
De La Soul - 3 Feet High And Rising
Slick Rick - The Great Adventures of Slick Rick

There are loads you could put in a 5 essentials, I felt this gave a pretty decent spread of material/eras

I own every single one of those albums. Thats a decent spread of material.
