Mike Shinoda is terrific. I dare you to find me a song where his rapping is bad.
I will admit, though, Chamillionaire isn't amazing or anything, but I can't really say he has any bad releases.

I mean with your knowledge of hip-hop can you honestly say that Kanye West is the best the wider public deserves for lyricism?
KanYe's not bad at all. I've always been a big fan.
But I never said he was the best.

Better: find me a song where Mike Shinoda's rapping isn't bad.

Everything is wrong with him as a rapper. He's part of a cheesy, stupid, boy band, and his side project where he gets his chance to show off his "hip hop background," he raps in such a MONOTONOUS manner and has absolutely no creative rhyming or lyrical content. Boo for Mike Shinoda.

We must agree to disagree then.
He is the only reason Linkin Park ever held a place in my ears, and he is a terrific producer and rapper, imo.

I've never heard a song that made me say "**** this Mike Shinoda guy. He's terrible."

...So you're not going to provide any song that shows Mike Shinoda rapping well?

Producer, maybe. The production on the Fort Minor album was alright, but goddamn, Mike Shinoda has nothing that makes him interesting or anything. Most of his lyrics in Linkin Park stuff is just BAD though, like everything else about Linkin Park.

I actually think Reanimation is one of my favorite albums of all time.
It helped turn me onto a lot of underground hip-hop.

There's nothing that sets Mike Shinoda apart from anyone. There's nothing interesting about him, he doesn't have anything to say. He's so, so, SO dull.

There is no way that Linkin Park gets anyone into underground hip hop. Underground hip hop got you into underground hip hop. Linkin Park is just, like, a horrible, horrible band.

This is why your opinion that Nas is boring receives very little weight Kirby.

Mike is definitely not bad. But I do think his production carries him.

When I said their album helped get me into undergroup hip-hop, it was because of the features on the album, so yes, it was the underground Hip-Hop on that album that got me into it.

Something about how I think Nas isn't anything spectacular and how this just proves that blahblahblah
It's not like I said this is the best list ever.
It's merely rappers that do not completely suck that have had at least a little mainstream support.
