I don't know about best young star, Kid Cudi made some interesting moves in refining the style he and Kanye have been developing, but he completely sucks as a rapper, with painfully simplistic lyrics and an amateur flow, and he can't sing worth **** either. Wale looked promising, but dropped a lackluster, average album. I can't say I get the hype at all with Drake.

The best young talent in rap this year was Fashawn, but he certainly not a star.

Lil Wayne should get the Talent of the Year award! You might not like his mainstream music but his underground freestyle is pretty good
