Slaughterhouse

This album is ridiculous. There wasn't an official thread so I figured I'd start it. Definitely gonna buy it when it's out the 11th.

And there's always some that hate on Budden, but he illed that first song...sure he gets himself into it with everybody, but he's still refreshing than the same old **** you always hear.

Terrible Lizard 08-07-2009 12:57 PM

Holy ****.
Old subject, new twist.

I'll be picking this up.

Kirby 08-07-2009 02:40 PM

I personally feel like the album was overhyped. The beats were kind of generic, and Budden brought the whole project down.

Guessed that would be the first response...guess I was off one. Budden hardly brought anything down. The beats did what they were supposed to, give something these guys could showcase their lyrical ability on. Imagine having four guys overshadowing the beats throughout an entire album in today's rap? And you say it as it's a bad thing? And in reality, while the beats didn't really add a ton to the album, they did nothing to take anything away.

Kirby 08-07-2009 05:27 PM

Budden just bores the hell out of me. His flow is nothing spectacular and I don't really feel he brings anything to the table. The group would be better, minus a budden.

Terrible Lizard 08-07-2009 06:49 PM

Tried out the leak, and after a few listens I think I judged too quickly based on one track. This album drags down halfway through.

IamAlejo 08-09-2009 05:30 PM

So Joe Budden was assaulted backstage by some of Raekwon's "affiliates" when they were talkin at a Rock the Bells Show. Crooked I round up his entourage and went looking for them, saying "nobody gonna disrespect one of my dudes when we're on my coast".

Maybe this Slaughterhouse vs Wu thing IS actually gonna happen. It would be so beautiful [if it stayed lyrical].

Kirby 08-09-2009 05:34 PM

Haha, I heard about it. I'm split on it, though.

Raekwon looks lames for having an affiliate do it, even though it's the smarter thing to do, because he can't get in trouble (by the law) for punching Budden.

At the same time, he's ran his mouth a lot about Wu.

About how I feel. Joe always talks a ton, and even though he attempted to smooth things over, almost a guarantee he was still running his mouth. They're obviously taking it as disrespect, and wanted to teach him a lesson.

But Rae gets 7-8 dudes to roll up on a real skinny Joe Budden and attack him from behind when they're talking. Handle your own business Rae if you feel that serious about it. There's not a chance in hell Budden would press charges on him anyway, that's career suicide.

I just want them to go at it. Mainly to see Royce and Crooked vs. GZA, Method and Rae. Joell would be the wild card. He always surprises me with some dopeness.

I don't think Rae got those guys to roll up on Joey. It's common that when two artists are beefing they don't control what their entourage does. It just happens because their entourage is mad slow and takes things personal when a majority of lyrical beef is for promotional reasons. Their entourage is the one that takes it from lyrics to physical.

IamAlejo 08-11-2009 07:26 AM

Come on, they brought a video camera there for it and everything. They all had an idea of what was going on.

dollarsandcents 08-11-2009 07:40 AM

Fracas aside, listened tot his for the first time last night. I was impressed, I'm a fan of Royce but wasn't expecting too much, never been a huge Budden fan and I've only heard the odd verse on other artists tracks from Crooked I and Joell Ortiz. Some great verses on there over some simple but effective beats. Some good wordplay and lyrics on a whole, all talented emcees and it seems like a good project.

Don't think they're doing themselves too many favours getting on the wrong side of Wu though, although I suppose it's the kind of confrontation that these kind of emcees thrive on.

Decent album though, I'll give it another spin later.

FaSho 08-11-2009 09:13 AM

The first video was amazing, and talking sh*t about Wu makes me want to get the album even more. On the d/l

Kirby 08-11-2009 12:52 PM

And now the beef with Wu is squashed.

The guy that started Rock The Bells sat them down, and got it finished.

IamAlejo 08-11-2009 03:09 PM

Joe Budden - No Comment | Hip Hop Songs > HipHopDX.com

lol doubtful. Even though it's horribly mixed, seems to be some not-so-subtle disses at Wu. You really think getting sat down by some clowns at Rock the Bells will end this? I doubt it gets physical again, but c'mon.

Meth and Budden have already supposedly "squashed" the beef once. That turned out well.

Kirby 08-11-2009 03:51 PM

He didnt make that song today, though. This was made before the sit down, because it's on his EP getting released today.

I'm willing to bet that track was made even before the punch.

I'd agree with you on both sides. What I'm saying is that there's no way you get guys with huge egos to sit down with some guy and squash it.

And this is from today....

Joe Budden Wants To Fight Raekwon | Joe Budden | Rap Basement

So let's be serious about it being "over".

Kirby 08-11-2009 05:20 PM

I want the fight to happen.
Maybe Budden'll shut his mouth for once, if he loses.

Also, he sounds lame for calling people by their Twitter names.

Rae's almost 40, no way he gets in that fight. Agree on the twitter stuff though. That's always been Budden though.

Slaughterhouse is a solid group of mc's. Great potential, if they can Get Focused, Man...
