Az
Can't search AZ cause it's too short so if there's already a thread my bad.
But this guy is arguably the greatest of the 2000's. He's great and most importantly consistent. |
The A'z? there songs yadadamean and money are really good.

I've only listened to Doe Or Die but liked it, guess I should check out his other stuff. AZ and Nas are similar, especially in delivery, and they were on each others' albums. To be honest, he gets kind of overlooked, but I don't know why.
|
Yep, AZ was the only person to guest on Illmatic. But yeah, AZ has got a lot of great stuff besides Doe or Die.
And to the person above, I've got no clue what you mean. |
yeah I like the few AZ tracks that I have heard but I have yet to listen to a full album of his.
Cormega is another one that sounds like Nas. I think Cormega came out before Nas and some people say Nas bite his whole style from him. |
Not sure if any of you have heard it yet since it just dropped [and is on the internetz], but Salvation is my album of the year thus far.
|
AZ is definitely one of my favourites.
His entire discography is worth owning physical copies of imo. I remember being hyped when S.O.S.A/9 Lives came out, all the bootlegging and **** that went down. The past 3 years has been a lot of AZ though. The last thing I got of him is Legendary...wasn't that this year. And there's another album G.O.D which I havent heard yet. +1 on Cormega...did he actually come out before Nas? That's the first I ever heard that. That would mean he was around in '90/'91. ( if we talking about Nas before Illmatic came out) |

Nas gave him a shout out on "One love" |
AZ and Nas should be similar considering they worked together for so long. It's a shame Nas became more popular as AZ is actually the better lyricist overall.
AZ is one of the few good gangster rappers left. I listen to some of his early stuff. btw in case you didn't know, Nas an AZ were in a rap group together back in the mid 90's called "The Firm" they teamed up with Nature and Foxy Brown. The debut album was released on interscope/aftermath mostly produced by dre. |

I enjoyed The Firm album, it got a bit of hate at the time. havent listened to it in years though. |
