So many of my favorite artists have collaborated once and have never gotten back together for a second album, that's pretty irritating. Hmm. It's hard for me to find anything wrong with Why?, but sometimes Yoni Wolf relies too much on imagery and metaphors in his lyrics to pull a song together, I think he'd be a great storyteller but you don't get to see that much in his music. |

I don't find Aesop Rocks lyrics to be overly cryptic, although his delivery is pretty fast and if you don't keep up you can miss something. I like it like that though, because when I listen to his stuff, I'm always discovering something new in his lyrics and making connections I hadn't made previously.
I like music that has replay value beyond your typical listenable qualities.

Snoop Dogg - His lyrics are basically everything I hate about modern mainstream rap, but I love Doggystyle. He has an amazing flow and the whole thing sounds pretty fun and laid back throughout.

It bothered me i have to admit, maybe i could cope with some preaching for a few songs but this is throughout the entire album and generalises stupidly.
Which is a shame because Hip-Hop is a monster of a tune. |
