Good Modern R&B That Does Not Suck
I would like to know if there is anything that sounds like the Ne-Yo, Usher, and etc, but at the same time does not suck. I mean, I have to give it to these guys, their songs are catchy as hell. The problem is, that is all the song provides. Is there an alternative to this shallow music?

Try Ryan Leslie , he's an awesome producer so most of his songs have nice beats.
Oh you have to hear a song of his called gibberish. I think it's creative. The-Dream is also a producer and writes songs for other people. The Love Vs. Money album was pretty decent. listen to Love vs. Money and Love vs. Money part 2 on the track list they show up back to back. |

The Dream's two biggest hits sound exactly alike though. But I like the sound unconditionally. Rockin That Thang's a tight track.

Alright, I really like Musiq (Soulchild). The only negative I see about him is a lot of his songs lack hooks, but they have depth. He reminds me a lot of Marvin ***e.
Ryan Leslie is pretty nice too. A friend showed me him before and I didn't really like him that much. After listening to his stuff a bit I really like it. The Dream was horrible. I listened to the tracks My Love and Rockin' That Thang, but I found them boring. The beat on Rockin' That Thang was okay, but the song had no substance. My Love had good vocals, but the beat was boring. I will get that album though and give him a second chance. |

I suppose that John legend is a little too mellow? As I really like him now I have been introduced to him.

If I was in charge of releasing his singles. I would have lead with "walking on the moon" then followed up with the slower "right side of the brain" I also like Mr. Yeah because I can relate to that song. Most of my exes do it to me. You might like Lyfe Jennings. I have been meaning to check out his albums but I hear really good things about him. Keri Hilson's album is pretty solid also. She had Timbaland produce the whole thing. There are about two tracks that are meh but a majority of them are hits. My favorites at the moment are "get your money up" and "intuition". |
