Nationalism implies a superiority. It's not equivacol to just loving your country. I mean if you have good reasons for being all about your homeland, then good for you, bro, but focusing on nationalism instead of what makes your country great can make you lose sight of what actually makes it great and lead you down dark paths just because it's what your country is doing. Instead of **** ja, merica! Do a **** ja, independence or whatever the **** you like about the place! Then when they try to impede on that right you can be like wait that's not independence, **** off bitch. Ya hear.

Independence is OK if you want, but the SNP and large parts of that Scottish nationalist movement just hate the English. I think it's blindingly obvious to anyone tbh.
