I might get Masters of the Universe. My buddy on another forum sent me a few of their things and I dug it. I'll try it.

I listened to Masters of the Universe a few days ago, and I was pretty disappointed. I liked the beat or whatever it's called (I have no knowledge of musical terms, sorry), but I hated the lyrics. Every song on the album, with the exception of the 10-15 second intro's, one song about a werewolf or something, and one song about a girl, consisted of rapping about how good they think they are, how mainstream sucks, etc. This wouldn't be a problem for me if it was only a few songs, but the entire thing felt like a build up for something better, something great that wasn't there. I really wish that they would make another album, it's a shame that Masters of the Universe (Masters of the Universe is basically Waterworld with more tracks added.) is there only album.

Was about to make a thread, so I'll just bump this.
WTF is up with Binary Star original copies selling for upwards of fifty dollars? **** I wish I still had mine in good condition. Also, can anyone recommend any of One Be Lo's solo albums? |

I don't know why I didn't see this thread but damn, Binary Star is fantastic!
One.Be.Lo specifically has great flow and good lyrics, what more could you want from a local emcee (the duo is from Pontiac, Michigan). I think he plays in Ann Arbor at the Blind Pig sometimes but I haven't seem him yet. I'm not sure if the two of them perform together anymore but Masters of the Universe is a great album, I wouldn't hesitate to see them.

From ( eastofla dot com /?p=1172 ) {type it out + minus the spaces}
"We’re very excited to say Binary Star is back in business working on new material and their 10th Anniversary Tour." "Also East of L.A. will be working alongside One Be Lo (aka One.Man.Army of Binary Star) on his third full length album B.A.B.Y. (Being A Black Youth) dropping first quarter 2010." |
