i like my music to be hard for the most part. And so when it comes to rap I like to listen to cutting edge raw type material. That's why I'm so enamord with Eminem instead rappers like 50 cent, puffy, Loon and some others.
Although Puffy was all that back in '97 I believe it was.

^ em used to be cutting edge, in my opinion. but he's dropped the ball; he's older, more mature, more controllable, and in some sense more conformist. but mainly, i think he's lost a lot of his appeal because he is now too predictable. hes a good producer, which is why i think he'll be around for a while. but i think his angry, rebel young fans will eventually grow up and give him the cold shoulder (like wut happened to backstreet, britney, etc.)

Yeah he's one heck of a producer I'll give you that. But at the rate the world is generating fans that only appreciate the artist who everyone has a poster of. . he may be a round for a lot longer even if he started putting out pure crap. But yeah, he has grwon up and his lyrics are a lot more maturer but the still have that edge, that quality that seperates eminem from every other rapper out there. he doesn't rap about any old thing just to sell records. The stuff he raps about is stuff that everyone can relate to. And on top of that he's one of the more versatile rappers out there. And his lyrics still give listeners that whole edgy raw feeling. He's up there with guys like Jada (Kiss), nas, and some others. I'd say DMX, but he's not thta versatile.

^ i dunno, i cant relate with em's homophobic, wife-killing, "shock crock". but then again, i cant relate with most rappers.
jadakiss is good, but his songs are mainly about his past coke dealing and b*tches and yachts. i wouldnt put him up there w. nas or even em, but he's definitely better than most dmx's first two albums are classic- definitely in my top ten rap albums. But, everything else he's touched has been weak, thinking he can make up for lack of creativity by just barking and saying "what?" every other word. im glad he's done putting out music.

And Nas is golden. And I still love DMX. Just not as much as I used to for the same reasons you said. If he spent as my time as he did making crappy movies (cradle to the grave) maybe he could make a decent album again. And I can proudly say Cradle to the grave was not the best thing I've ever seen. And I didn't even see it in the movies thank goodness for that. And em is one of the few rappers out there who I can relate to.

But the things he raps about I see just about every day in some shape or form. And the song 'lose yourself' I think every one can relate to in their own way. In one sense I guess part of the reason I go to school sometimes is because of that song.

Yeah well I wanna be a doctor or something in the science field when I grow up. When I was younger I pushed school and everything else aside for msuic and poetry. I've only got one chance at being that good at something. And I am so great at everything science. Talent like that in my family isn't hard to come by. But I wanna try to make a life for myself here in this country.
