Felt 1: A Tribute to Christini Ricci = Murs & Slug (with The Grouch producing the album) Felt 2: A Tribute to Lisa Bonet = Murs & Slug (with Ant producing the album) Felt 3: A Tribute to Rosie Perez = Murs & Slug (with Aesop Rock producing the album) I don't think Aesop Rock has any vocals (aside from maybe a hook or two). I plan on making a "Beginner's Guide To Murs" soon.

Yeah, overall I agree with Kirby and his Beginner Guide to Murs nails the gist of it. Grab that and give it a listen.

Caught his show tonight on his current tour promoting "Fornever" - his latest release with 9th Wonder. It was a campus sponsored event, so the venue and show was a little.... busch league... but MURS had a very solid set. It was very balanced, he played at least 2 songs from 3:16, Murray's Revenge, Murs for President, Fornever, as well as covering Common's "I Used to Love H.E.R." and he stole a beat from Rick Ross since Rick Ross snagged a MURS beat for a track haha.
Great to catch him in concert - I saw the Living Legends back in Fall 2005, but they were sans MURS, who was touring for "Murray's Revenge". Now I've seen 'em all! Got the chance to meet him after the show and take a few pictures. Very chill dude; very in touch with his fans and more than willing to pose for countless pictures, and sign a bunch of autographs. Great audience interaction throughout the set as well. Mad respect for this guy, grab ALL of his stuff if possible!!

His delivery and the matireal he rhymes about just sounds like every other rapper to me. I just don't get the hype.
9th wonder's beats are good but not great. I've listened through Murrays Revenge and Murs for president, and came away pretty unimpressed. Any reccomendations? |

Well, he's not really doing anything to redefine the game... this is true. He does rhyme about some pretty standard stuff... There's just something about his flow, the way he packages his messages. I don't really know- I just have mad love for anything Living Legends, personally.
Between solo, Living Legends, 3MG, and Felt, he's got a TON of material... Kirby's Beginner's Guide to MURS (http://www.musicbanter.com/soundtrac...tml#post767167) is probably a good jumping off point. I really like "Murray's Revenge", so if it didn't move you I'm not sure much else will. But, here's some stuff to check: -"Murs 3:16" aka "The 9th Edition". -Felt Vol. 1 and 2, collaborative efforts with Slug -"The End of the Beginning"; Production credits include Dibbs, RJD2, Ant, Oh No, El-P, among others.
