Dizzee Rascal
Anyone hear him in the live lounge yesterday doing the cover of the ting tings? good isnt the word, was amazing he's such a witty guy!
|
I never listen to the radio but Dizzee should get a lot more respect than he does. He is much more than a mere rapper and his lyrics on his latest are excellent and a little self referential.
|
My respect for him was a bit dampened when i saw him do a duet with Calvin Harris for the BBC at Glastonbury. To be fair though that's more down to my massive hatred for Calvin Harris.

Raskit's gotten a bad rap over the years for kissing up to a mainstream hip-hop audience, but I don't think anyone can deny he's simply one of the most diverse MC's grafting today.
The guy can spit over anything and keep it fresh, I barely hear him repeat a bar these days. He's collaborated with just about everybody it seems and I really look forward to hearing what he comes out with in the future, even if he's never really topped 'Boy In Da Corner' album-wise (more Jay-Z than flag-bearer for the UK underground but who cares anymore?)... |
Dizzee Rascal
There's only one other thread about him and it bombed. I want people to check this guy out, he's actually a decent rapper. His lyrics apply to my culture a lot, and he seems to really want everyone to just come together and be themselves.
YouTube - Dizzee Rascal - Flex YouTube - Dizzee Rascal - Stand up tall (Best Quality) Just let me know if you want some more hook ups and I will be happy to. :D |
I love Dizzee Rascal but I've been a little disappointed by the direction he's gone in musically. It seems like every day he sounds more and more like regular mainstream hip-hop.
|
wow, I really this. I think he would blow up here in the states. I haven't heard anyone that quite sounds like him.
|
His first album is by far his best.

Thread merged. Some of the basslines on Boy In Da Corner are extraordinary.
