Smile Kanye On Soulja

To who ever hasn't read this yet...

Kanye states:
Soulja boy is fresh ass hell and is actually the true meaning of what hip hop is sposed to be. He came from the hood, made his own beats, made up a new saying, new sound and a new dance with one song. He had all of America rapping this summer. If that ain't Hip Hop then what is? A bunch of wannabe keep it real rappers that ain't even relevant, recycling samples trying to act like it's 96 again and all they do is hate on new ****? Niggas always talk about the golden age but for a 13 year old kid, this is the golden age!!! That song was so dope cause everything he said had a hidden meaning... that's Nas level ****... he just put it over some steel drums which is also some Nas **** if you had the 2nd album cassette with the bonus track "Silent Murder" on it. In closing... new niggas get ya money$$$$$$$$$$ Keep this **** fresh and original.... ain't no ****in' rules to this **** and that's what real hip hop is to me.

I can totally see his point, and mind you I'm only 23 years old... but man I feel old by saying I think music now is kinda pointless and media influenced to the max...

Kanye makes very valid points and I really love Kanye's music, I just hope that this article can inspire Soulja to make some music that can reach all ages of hip hop and audiences in general.

Anyone else have some takes on this article

***Please discuss you opinion and not just say a one liner.. lol***

Not all music, of course it will be if you look at the charts but look deeper and there's plenty of interesting things happening, independent of trends or whatnot.

Shut the fuck up write something original yourself for a change.

Honestly this guy makes Bono look humble.

Very true, I don't actually listen to the radio to much at all.. tv as well... but anywhere you go you hear it... for instance...This coming up holiday (July 4th) I'm sure I will go somewhere and hear radio music....

Its funny though I would always hear my parents say
"music isn't music anymore..."
and their parents told them that.. and so on...
that is what I meant by my "23 year old" comment .... makes me feel old.. when I'm really not...

Yea, Soulja Boy is definitely on Nas' level.

Kanye sucks and he's an idiot.

Urban described it well. He is an egotistic prick who really isn't that good of a rapper. I mean, he is better than a lot of stuff that comes off the radio, but that doesn't say much. Anyone who has any knowledge of rap music at all would say Soulja Boy sucks. The only reason Kanye disagrees is because he wants more and more publicity.

I always believed to be legit in the hip hop game you should have more than one song people will remember for good reasons. I say good reasons because that "yea bitch yea" song is the biggest joke ive ever heard.
