It's okay, you can say 'G-Funk'
Honestly, I don't really know much about his production beyond the really popular albums from the early-mid 90s. Perhaps it became stale. But his OG G-Funk is the G-Funkiest.
You didn't say Dre is a great rapper but you did say he had a commanding presence. I guess I can see that but Ice Cube commands him into the ground.

I never listen to him to be honest, but you know who it is when he is on the mic. His verse on "Forgot About Dre" is a stand out for me. He doesn't write his own stuff and it's not exactly inspirational, but there's something about his voice that I love.

Seems weird to me as well that Dre is criticized for his rap, some of the best NWA songs have a younger Dre at the mic, he kills some of his newer songs, but yeah his beats are better.

I love the Chronic but I find myself always throwing on Cube or Eazy more on a regular basis. I think Cube and Eazy just have more distinguished voices and I like the way they lay it down. I will always have love for The Chronic though, hell of an album.

If only Dr Dre had released more than just 2 albums, and not let Snoop Dogg rap on half of The Chronic, I'd listen to him much more often.

Eazy E was a pretty good businessman, cooperating with Jerry Heller to form his own record label and all. He also had charisma and a unique voice, but I wouldn't call him a top rapper. A "rella gangsta", maybe.

I meant more in the sense that he was the only one who had any hand in the drug trade seriously, a lot of his money from that financed NWA from what i've heard. He may have become so shrewd by being in that dirty dirty bisness. Definitely not a top rapper persay, but as far as charisma guys go he's up there. I've never been too into EZ though.
