Trees or Blue Flowers are good ones to start with.

"Dr. Octagon paramedic fetus from the east..."

Octagonycologist is the most amazing display of madness, it's brilliant.

My brother listens to Kool Keith ad naseum... I don't get the appeal. 90% of his work sounds to me like most other hip-hop with "weird" space lyrics, and stupid poop jokes.

I don't know, very little of it seems very abstract to me, to be honest. Some songs are ok "Little Girl"(which probably isn't technically Octagon, but eh...) is a decent song. Generally, it's generic as crap, and I don't know where people see the eccentric genius in it.

Terence Hill, as recently confirmed during an interview to an Italian TV talk-show, was offered the role but rejected it because he considered it "too violent". Dustin Hoffman and John Travolta declined the role for the same reason. When Al Pacino was considered for the role of John Rambo, he turned it down when his request that Rambo be more of a madman was rejected.
Al Pacino = God

I think a big thing you need to understand about Kool Keith is that he's very hit-or-miss. But when he's on he's great. Also, he hasn't done much worthwhile since the 90s. Anyway, here's one of my favorites by him:

Who the **** cares if Kool Keith is an abstract sounding eccentric genius? Either way, you probably have to like rap in order to appreciate his music.
Here's a good song from 2008.

that song is dope. I've only checked out dr. octagon and that album with "sex style" on it, and couldn't get into either too heavily.

Is that album worth it? Like whats a good album for lyrical content, with experimental production like not in as the forefront

It has couple good songs on it but it's far from his best. The other Dr. Dooom album First Come, First Served is fantastic though.

I think most of his albums are pretty good. Although, Janszoon's right that he's pretty hit or miss on all of them. I feel that way about Dr. Octagon even. I've never really been sure why it's considered such a classic. Dr. Dooom 2 is pretty good, as is Diesel Truckers. Here's a song from that one..

Diesel Truckin'

This stupid iPad won't let me watch that video but that album is definitely on my short list of Kool Keith albums I still need to get.
