Nas
Hello, I did a search, but was unable to find any thread on him already, so I apologize in advance if there is one.
Anyways, I just bought his Illmatic cd, slightly late I know, but I want to know which one I should pick up next? I was thinking God's Son or It Was Written....? Thanks. |

After Illmatic it was more about good songs not so much good albums. I guess I'd go with I Am that's the only other one I thought was decent as an album. God's Son was okay too. I've heard positive things about Stillmatic.

woah, hold on buddy.
illmatic was great, like an 8.8/10, but it isnt one of the best albums ever. i can think of many better rap and hiphop albums: Deltron 3030 - s/t Madvillainy - s/t Public Enemy - millions Aesop Rock - Labor Days Outkast - Stankonia

I'd say it is, and especially one of the best rap albums. It's an album with no filler, no skits, it doesn't outstay it's welcome (its really refreshing to hear a rap album that isn't an hour long), has my favourite Hip-hop track (The World Is Yours), some really great sampling, and at that point all of the big talk was completely backed up. It's quite a crossover album as well, appeals to all sorts of music fans. It gets big love from me.
