woah, hold on buddy.
illmatic was great, like an 8.8/10, but it isnt one of the best albums ever.

i can think of many better rap and hiphop albums:

Deltron 3030 - s/t
Madvillainy - s/t
Public Enemy - millions
Aesop Rock - Labor Days
Outkast - Stankonia

I'd say it is, and especially one of the best rap albums. It's an album with no filler, no skits, it doesn't outstay it's welcome (its really refreshing to hear a rap album that isn't an hour long), has my favourite Hip-hop track (The World Is Yours), some really great sampling, and at that point all of the big talk was completely backed up. It's quite a crossover album as well, appeals to all sorts of music fans. It gets big love from me.

"Illmatic" and "It was Written" deserve to be in the hip-hop hall of fame if there is such a thing. He definitely fell off a bit but there is no doubt Nas is still one of the illest in the game right now.

He should have decided to go for an all Dre album after Illmatic instead of now. Then I would have cared. His new album I haven't heard, and won't, but if he goes through with the Dre thing I'll pick it up. If.

I got Illmatic, I listened through it, but the car was louder than the stereo and I wasn't paying attention. But I like the tracks Ether and Hip Hop is Dead a lot, so I'll be sure to give him another listen through. I wanna grab Stillmatic too.

I like "I Am". Covers every topic that a rapper should. Has the hard stuff and the thoughtful stuff. Is he underground too???

I mean I thought only underground rappers had any skill. If more than 5 people know who he is then he must suck right? I mean he is on the Roc A Fella label isnt he? You cant be making millions and still be an artist right???

FU backpackers! STFU!!!!!!!!!
