Ummm...a good CD should be easy to listen to. Not sure how that would help it become overrated?

And the more you guys mention MC Chris the harder it is to give your opinions serious thought.

Wow, I'm actually surprised to see how many votes Eminem has. There's at least 7 other people on that list I would've chosen before him. For some reason I thought most people don't even take him seriously anymore but I guess I'm completely wrong.

Please list the 7.

Hint: Just because it's mainstream doesn't mean it's bad, just because it's underground doesn't mean it's good.

Hint: You shouldn't assume I hate something because it's "mainstream" How stupid. The ones I would've ranked above him;

Brother Ali
Slug
El P
Beastie Boys
Cage
Sage Francis
Aesop Rock

A ton are better than Em, just not any white rappers. And yes, I'm saying MC Chris is horrible. His lyrics are not the most entertaining I'll find. And the fact is you're mentioning him as the best white rapper over a legend in Eminem [hate to admit it to you, but when everyone else in the industry respects you and what you've done, you are]

I still will throw out the challenge to anyone that I'll post song for song Em against any other artist on the list.

Seriously IamAlejo, I'm not sure if you are as arrogant as you come accross in this argument, but stop telling people 'what hip hop is' because it's pointless. You aren't the arbiter of what is and isn't hip hop, and if I want to listen to some music that aspires to be more complex or challenging than Eminem, it doesn't make me some pretentious contrarian.

This wont prove anything for either side I imagine, but could be fun nonetheless - I'm only familiar with Em's greatest hits and barring about 4 songs the whole album is crap. I'll be interested in seeing what his more authentic material is like.

This is far from EL-P's best song, but the video is pretty cool so I thought I'd start with this.
