Right now? Eminem hands down. He's not only the best white rapper but he's one of the best rappers period right now. Though, I do like Paul Wall as well. His popularity has dropped since The People's Champ, but he's a great rapper nonetheless.

Edit: I just listened to your rap, and you're really not that bad. It just kind of sounded a little bit like an NPR personality trying to rap, honestly. Like, Ira Glass trying to be hip. The lyrics weren't awful, though. |

Dude.. this poll just made me realize that Slug is one of the most under-appreciated white rappers out there.
This is either because a) people don't know who he is, b) people are too busy listening to mainstream white rappers, or c) both. I vote "C". Dude, Eminem used to be the ****; I'll give you that. But for real, his last album sucked. He's lost his touch. He used to make some hard, hard ****, but nowadays it's just him rapping in a high pitched voice about nothing. It seems like all rappers nowadays go through the same thing, though. They're good at first, but then they just run out of **** to say and their music turns to crap practically overnight. I think the best move for Eminem to make next is to retire from the music-making, start his own label, and produce other peoples' ****. He's gone through a lot of mental stress (addiction, withdrawal) 'n I think that just put him in a position where he can't write to his full potential anymore. Sad ****, I know, but you can't honestly think that Eminem is still one of the key players in the white-rap game nowadays, can you? Last edited by BeatnikK; 09-21-2010 at 12:54 PM. |

There is no "white-rap game" and Eminem is still better than alot of rappers period. The production on his last album may have been a little scattered, but can you honestly examine the lyricism in his lyrics and say he's not still very talented?

But yes, Eminem's lyrics are exactly what I'm talking about. His flow is one of a kind, unique as all hell, but the lyrics are lacking. I have Eminem in my iTunes, it's just not the mainstream garbage he's released. He's put out some good stuff, just not recently (in my opinion). Of course, I'm sure the guy down the street from would tell you differently. It's all subjective, man. |
