Eyedea and Akala are tied in my eyes. I enjoy the latter much more, but the former's wit and genius can't be denied, not to mention his freestyles.

sage francis is the most overrated rapper. the only reason he has listeners is because hipsters think listening to him gives them street cred

i agree with whoever said that KRS-ONE was the best,
even though he wasn't, he is a better rapper than most of them mentioned in this thread.

I vote other-Roots Manuva. Fúck what KRS-one says. Roots has such a laid back smoke filled vibe. He'll do for me.

well, I chose eminem, strictly because I look at how rappers are emotionally, not just their technique. What I really like about him, is that he brings his personal life into his raps so much, and all of his lyrics are straight from the heart. I don't listen to a lot of rap, but I haven't heard anyone more personal than him
