Default Whats your favorite verse & why does it draw your interest?

One of mine gotta be:

Beanie Sigel - Still got Love for You / Jay-Z's verse:

"How could you let me grow without you? / Grind in this rap game, take dough without you? / Wore my pro keds close to the sole without you / Family pictures, posed without you / Why?"

Being a father, I see how my son is attached to me unconditionally, and I would never want him to feel the pain of me not being there for him. And it shows how important having your father right by your side is, being with you through your experiences, your struggle, your accomplishments, your success & your life period. That verse is a painful expression... it's deep in my opinion.

So anyway, what's YOURS???

I like a few one-liners from hot hot heat, and boy kill boy. They stick in your head really bad.

id say Chino-XL's "here to save you all":

From a single seed off of a man
A man with countless hopes and dreams
And as he grew he tried and refied
But could never concord or succeed
The voices of the world spoke to him and said that he would be nothing
That the way he thought and expressed himself was pure hatred
Satan sent
This turned that man into a rod
A rod that would not bend
But through its entirety the confusion the chaos
He will be the one that will save you all

i dont know why, it just seems really deep and much more real than alot of rappers these days.

Took a right on Lyndale I'm getting near
But then the road became empty and the people disappear'd
The clowds ran away, opened up the sky
And one by one I watched every constellation die
And there I was frozen, standin in my backyard
Face to face, eye to eye, starin at the last star
I should've known, walked all the way home
To find that she wasn't here, I'm still all alone

this is from atmosphere's Always Comin Back Home To You. i think it paints a very vivid and deeply emotional image

Sage Francis Sun Vs. Moon

"The devil only exists because of your belief in him,
Same goes for that other guy."

"God's not a woman,
He's a big white guy in the sky,
And the deserts are reflections of his eyes,
He doesn't cry for us,
But when he does,
It's cause he's drunk,
And he's always ****ed up,
Bottoms up."

I just think its an interesting way to think of things. The whole song is thoughtful to think of the sun and the moon as two battling djs.

Mine is: "SOS please someone help me its not healthy for me to feel this and why are you are making this hard I can't take it see it dont feel right." and: "Cuz we both know where I'm about to go, and we know it very well cuz I know that he knows I'm unfaithful and it kills him inside to know that I am happy with some other guy. I could see him dying." I love all of Rihanna's songs and these two (SOS and Unfaithful) are great to me, and the videos are the best!!!

The problem is that, both of those songs aren't even close to rap or hip-hop

sweatshop union - try

Cuz I never wanna be the thing that you hear many say
Like "I coulda been, I shoulda been, but never did it anyway"
Livin' day to day a nickle spent a penny saved
Feelin' homeless always lookin' for some change

actually the whole song really. awesome message that just rings really true for me:

Try
Hard as ya' can
To understand
This runnin' in circles
Got me wonderin'
I- I- I don't know why
We pay it any mind
Baby I'm blind
How would we know
If we don't even
Try...

Ever since the ninth of July to the day that
I faded tonight in the sky
Cuz I never wanna be the thing that you hear many say
Like "I coulda been, I shoulda been, but never did it anyway"
Livin' day to day a nickle spent a penny saved
Feelin' homeless always lookin' for some change
Change o' mind, my mind is gone I want it back
Trainwreck rapper keep my life on the track
Anyone is everyone an' anything is everything
An' no one is a nobody I know it in my brain
Heard a wise man say an' I'll say it the same
It ain't how many times you fall but if you get back up an'

Try
Hard as ya' can
To understand
This runnin' in circles
Got me wonderin'
I- I- I don't know why
We pay it any mind
Baby I'm blind
How would we know
If we don't even
Try...

I'm tryin' to get up, get out, an' get some thin'
An' still live up to what I've said
What's important to me 's not a fortune please
Still don't feel I need a Porshe, Beemer to fulfill my dreams
Cuz I remember the reason that I got into this thing in the
First place wasn't ever to be rich
All I wanted was to say my peice and make enough at least
To have a place to sleep 'til I'm done that I won't sit down
An' I can't quit now I'm addicted to the drum kit's poundin'
An' now an' then it might feel like I'm runnin' in circles
I just gotta keep jumpin' the hurdles and

Try
Hard as ya' can
To understand
This runnin' in circles
Got me wonderin'
I- I- I don't know why
We pay it any mind
Baby I'm blind
How would we know
If we don't even
Try...

Well maybe I'm older
Maybe my heart's cold
Or maybe it's yours
Tell me to get over
This chip on my shoulder
That's bringin' me down

Well I got my word and my pride no job an' no credit
Found my one true love but got co-dependant
I got no things I got no image
Got a lot more goals an' not close to finished
I got a dream an' a pipe that's it
A drum machine an' a mic to spit
Got a career that made me cheat on my wife and mistress named life
An' I ain't treatin' her right either
Vice versa got some tight verses
Hope the first of the month some thin' might surface
It just might and it might just not
It's a flip o' the coin I suppose I just gotta

Try
Hard as ya' can
To understand
This runnin' in circles
Got me wonderin'
I- I- I don't know why
We pay it any mind
Baby I'm blind
How would we know
If we don't even
Try
Hard as ya' can
To understand
This runnin' in circles
Got me wonderin'
I- I- I don't know why
We pay it any mind
Baby I'm blind
How would we know
If we don't even
Try...
