Where do you see rap in the next 20 years? (rock, genre)

There's no reason in the world for some guy's teeth to shine like the sun.
I was blinded momentarily.

And I don't think of Nelly as a rapper. he seems like a big softy.
he's kinda cute though. ALthough he's got to do something about those teeth

Nah but for real..you made a good point. he's all about appereance now, rather than the music.

But i'm sure when he first came out you were feelin his music, cuz it was new and original. now its stale and repetitive

Rap will be, if anything, more underground than what it is today. The amount of commercial rap is far outweighed by the amount of underground rap around these days.

There will never be such a thing as a dead underground.

Underground is the fuel of the commercial world. If the underground dies then the commercial will bomb with it.

and if anything, sh*t is going to be more commercial before they are more underground. labels need new heads, and they will get them from the underground.

thnk of all the underground groups goin commercial. and think of all the underground groups that are respectable and actually have a good fan base..a handful practically..

I`m not the biggest hip hop fan around but I used to get at least 5/10 hip hop albums a year.

I`ve probably bought 5 over the past few years and those are ones that i`ve been reccommended rather than ones i`ve heard & liked.

Quite honestly i`ve never been so apathetic towards a genre of music as much as I am now to mainstream hip hop.

Well that's all a matter of opinion. Twenty years from now they may perhaps be an underground, but I doubt the number of quality underground rappers in the US will ever outnumber the many (talentless) rappers the US spews forth at a rather alarming rate.

No its not, the amount of rappers in either scene (as of now) isn't an opinion. You can't just make certain people not exist just because you have an opinion. Now a matter of opinion, would be the later part of your post. I'm pretty much just gonna hope with snickers on this subject.
