Well that's all a matter of opinion. Twenty years from now they may perhaps be an underground, but I doubt the number of quality underground rappers in the US will ever outnumber the many (talentless) rappers the US spews forth at a rather alarming rate.

No its not, the amount of rappers in either scene (as of now) isn't an opinion. You can't just make certain people not exist just because you have an opinion. Now a matter of opinion, would be the later part of your post. I'm pretty much just gonna hope with snickers on this subject.

and what is your opinion of where the rap scene will be in 20 years?

I saw that you were making a post about yet another one of mine but no where in there did I see what you though of rap or anything pertaining or pertinent to the contribution of this thread.

Oh and ps:
i didn't make up numbers nor did i mention any. quote me if i did.

Not really the point, you said something that could (maybe even is, im not a huge expert on rap so i'm not gonna say) be completely factual was a matter of opinion. You of all people really shouldn't lecture any person about what they do and don't contribute.

No, the underground right now is and will always be larger than the mainstream. It may seem like there are a billion horrible commercial rappers out right now, but they make up a small percentage of the entire genre. The mainstream of every genre represents such a small talent pool that it's ridiculous. While you only get a few new "big" commercial rappers every year from the same major labels, the underground Rap scene exists on a multitude of labels worldwide with many, many different rappers. The underground will never disappear.

I think that 20 years from now commercial Rap will still be popular, but there will have been a new trendy mainstream genre to take it's place at the top of the charts. The underground scene will still thrive, but will never receive the attention it deserves except for with a few "breakthrough" artists, like it is today.
