Public Enemy or NWA?

I prefer Public Enemy.

exasko 12-26-2003 03:37 PM

NWA... gotta support Dre

Thrice 12-26-2003 08:34 PM

NWA fo' the docta

Rockafella Skank 12-26-2003 10:12 PM

I prefer Public Enemy because of all the good they did for rap music. They really paved the way in the East along with Run DMC. They brought politics into rap and therefore their songs meant things. It is very powerful stuff.

IamAlejo 12-26-2003 10:40 PM

NWA for life lol

JackJeckel 03-01-2004 02:37 PM

NWA, but not by a lot.. both are amazing groups

Beor Uaine 03-14-2004 01:34 AM

I have to go with PE for the reason of She Watch Channel Zero. A rap act using a Slayer riff gets my vote. I listened to both back in tha day, but I have to represent the east coast, Boy. PE gets my vote.

Electric Ocean 07-19-2005 10:21 AM

NWA, but there's not much in it.

anticipation 07-19-2005 11:47 AM

its tough. but id hafta say NWA, because aint no better than homies that are SRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON

Urban Hat€monger ? 07-19-2005 11:47 AM

I like Pubic Enemy more myself

NWA seemed to me to be more gimmicky

Fenixpunk 07-19-2005 04:21 PM

SATCHMO 07-19-2005 05:16 PM

P.E. IN FULL EFFECT BRUTHA!!!!!!!

Imonlydancing 08-14-2005 05:45 AM

Okay...I haven't heard much of Publin Enemy...maybe not any. But I've heard NWA...and I like '**** tha police' and 'straight outta compton' mm hmm. So NWA.

puddin 08-14-2005 05:59 AM

I'd say P.E. but Company Flow wipe the floor with both N.W.A. and P.E.

COMPANY FLOW ARE FECKING AMAZING!

SATCHMO 08-14-2005 11:59 AM

CoFlo are great, but have respect for the people who paved the way for them to do what they do. I'm sure anyone in company Flow would humble themselves in the presence of NWA or PE

TheBig3 08-14-2005 12:52 PM

PE was better, but intelligence and rap don't mix, NWA are far more influential.

NWA

its all about the North West Airlines.

Public Enemy, no contest. I mean I love the in-your-face abundance of profanities that somehow seem like more than just shock value but PE gets my vote. Their music was so fresh and it had so much momentum.
Yeah boy

Mag 7 08-25-2005 06:04 AM

PE definintely, I like NWA but they are too gangsta, PE is intelligent. Plus NWA only released 1 good album, PE have far more to offer and are more diverse in their influences.

FLAVA FLAV,

YEEEEEAH BOOI!

gregb 08-25-2005 11:51 AM

NWA, PE was annoying

EDGE 08-25-2005 11:51 AM

PUBLIC ENEMY

anticipation 08-27-2005 10:48 AM

The last good leader for african-americans was Public Enemy.

outbreak

yo u gotta love public enemy but no one can beat NWA they made hip hop and rap wot it is!:hphones:

Hype8 08-30-2005 01:51 PM

Yeah they made a bunch of crap artists out there like 50 Cent who try and bite NWA's style (and other ganster rap artists in the early 90s)... so once again I have to give a nod to PE for their longevity and intelligence.

HuKitKat 08-30-2005 01:58 PM

imitation is the highest form of flattery

crazyman 09-17-2005 01:21 AM

i gotta support the westcoast gangsta rap they really did something different they didnt care about what people thought about them i mean they rapped about life in the city of compton....my neighboring town is compton. PE was more of a movement group while NWA was more of a **** all this **** and lets rap about what is really going on in our heads. i mean who else can make a make a rap group and get banned off mtv and most radio stations?? they just didnt give a damn even though eazy was messed up to the rest of the crew at the end of their career.

I gotta go with PE, simply because they represented an intelligent yet millitant side to Hip Hop largely ignored by the mainstream until they came out. But on the real regardless of whether u feel N.W.A were a novelty(or not) whatever the case may be, u can't deny the were unique and raw, and basically the blueprint for the grimey **** that sells. Dre is a mother****ing genius.

TheBig3 09-23-2005 12:10 PM

NWA losses points with me for ruining modern day rap. Anyone whos main influence was PE knows you need content.
