To bring this thread to a slightly more serious note...

I like DMX, a lot i've realized.

X Gon Giv it 2 ya is my favorite track right now.

Definitely underrated as a pop-rap artist goes, and his delivery is hilarious.

Talk about falling off quick though

And how exactly is he a pop rap artist?

WTF is wrong with you people? Is Mettallica pop-metal?

Is Johnny Cash pop-country?

DMX is the definition of Hardcore/Gangsta rap.

And how did he fall off? He's had 5 number one albums...the only one that didnt go number 1 went number 2. If you dont know what you are talking about then STFU!

What is the definition of Gangsta rap exactly? Is Ja Rule gangsta rap then?

DMX wrote pop songs...

Would "Party Up" be anything other then a pop track? I'm not belittling himself for it at all, in fact i think compared to a lot of artists sharing the same persona he had the best delivery and lyrics.

I meant falling off, as in, he was the center of spotlight and is know hardly getting any media attention at unless staring in a B-rate action flick.

LOL at having one hugely popular song (that his actual fans hate) and now he is a pop rapper.

He'd smack you or worse if you said that his face.

So by your logic since Unforgiven was a ballad Mettalica isnt a metal band anymore either.

Yep, that sounds right to me

Dmx is 5'5 I'm not sweatin running into him in an ally. There are some scarry ass Whiteboys i would avoid in an ally more than him.

i agree he has fallen off he was another rapper that got raped on his deal. and let the lifestyle take over and ruin his life. its sad. just 3-4 years ago he had more platinum albums than jay-z. and was the top selling rap artist

Well thank god hes got hardcore fans that can see through his ****ty popular songs.

Somehow i doubt if i went up to DMX and said "hey, i think you are a versatile and original rapper who knows how to cater to mainstream audiences" he would smack me.

Why is being a pop rapper immediately looked upon as bad?
