If anyone from Drain Gang is GOAT it's ECCO2K and they're all kinda nothing without Whitearmor.

I'd put Pharoahe Monch, Andre 3k, and Jay-Z up against that group any day of the week.

I do like material from all of them though. Doom's discography is too inconsistent and his style of rapping is a little too laid back for me, Biggie has two great albums and a wonderful legacy, nothing bad to say about him - Busta's first album is an absolute gem ('Everything Remains Raw' for my money is the best song he ever did), but his 'extinction' theme got played out by the second album. And he's got too much filler. When he's on point though, he's on point. Flipmode Squad's debut is a little underrated though.

I've only just in the last few months been getting into MF Doom but honestly he just has this feel of being the purest of backpacker hip hop that's like comfort food and you just wanna turn it on and chill out. I'm not someone who dick sucks all over his lyricism but that is pretty fun too.

Fair enough, Madvillainy is great and Mm...Food is good too. What are your thoughts on Aesop Rock or Mos Def/Talib Kweli if you're into backpacker hip-hop?

Never listened much to Aesop Rock but Black Star is my absolute ****. I ****ing love the way Mos Def and Talib trade off lines like an old school hip hop album. It has such great energy. Talib Kwali's first album is fine. It's good. I like it. But his next album is kinda whack. Mos Def's Black on Both Sides album however is a ****ing masterpiece.
