Hip Hop is a culture,
a lifestyle which consists of Breaking, Popping and Locking, Grafitti, Dj-ying(cutting scratching, producing etc), M.C-ing/Rapping, fashion and of recent years Films and books. So really Rap is a particle of Hip Hop. An M.C can quite easily be a "dope Rapper" which is an expression of Corporote interest, but a rapper can't be an M.C.., a HIP HOP Artist. Nas, Pac, Melle Mel, Rakim and Big Pun are Hip Hop Artists/M.C's Nelly, 50 Cent and Young Jeezy are Rappers/Rap artists. See the difference? Ain't none of you Niggas watched Hip Hop Immortals or Beef, or The M.C(produced by the same people who made Beef. QD3)? Hip Hop immortals explains everything you need to know about the culture(past, present and future, with every Rapper/M.C under the sun making an appearance). And at the beginning of Beef it briefly gives you a history lesson about Hip Hop and how the whole Battle/Beef thing started. Damn, I thought niggas was into Hip Hop and in particuar Rap music, now I'm starting to wonder AND worry.
