Nation of Millions wasn't even the best record out at the time (By All Means Necessary- BDP). There is no way you can claim that their impact on hip hop was greater than Nas with Illmatic. The influence of that album is everywhere, even today. Public Enemy's popularity was due more to politics and controversy than actual hip-hop skills.

^ You don't think Chuck D has skills?

Beastie Boys were very influential to the rap of today. Many list them as their greatest inspirations, which is pretty cool considering they are three dorky white kids. I'm impressed with the list of albums. Usually polls end up in stupid choices that reult in everyone complaining. I see you've been looking through your collection a bit here, Bill.

KRS-1 on "By All Means..." was light years ahead of Chuck lyrically on "Nation of Millions..." Chuck doesn't even come close to someone like Nas. Like I said, PE had a bigger impact outside of hip-hop than in.
