No, just not made-for-radio tripe like Waka Flocka.

This is what I was getting at.
What? He said that energy has something to do with flow and live performances, and that ODB had great energy. I don't think Flame has good flow, can't say I've ever or ever will see him live, and he sounds NOTHING like ODB, where I can actually see someone saying he has a lot of energy. So it really doesn't give me any reason to like him anymore than I did before.

Was LFO mentioned? I didn't see them...

The problem stems from this statement. People think because a rapper is popular, then he is just making music to get airplay. There's no way he enjoys making music or anything. :bonkhead:

So you're saying you can't see someone saying Waka Flocka has a lot of energy?

Oh, and the highest rated comment on that video is "IF WAKA GOES HARD THUMBS UP!!!"

Not just because he's popular. If that were the case I'd think Kanye, Nas, Tupac, and many other rappers were just in it for the money. The reason Waka's not a serious artist to me is that he became popular through rapping about the same shit all popular rappers are rapping about (getting blowjobs and money) to the same boring beats that popular rappers use. Also the glorious lack of talent.

No, what the hell? He's just rapping slightly above a person's normal speaking volume. It doesn't seem above-average in energy to me. Really not comparable to:

TockTockTock 12-27-2010 01:51 PM

1.) Lil Wayne
2.) Lil Wayne
3.) Lil Wayne

*BONUS* 4.) That Waka Waka idiot

*BONUS*
The Best Rappers: MF DOOM, Eminem (don't like him, but he's good), Mos Def, and Chuck D.

Hmmm, I like this, a "worst" thread thats actually constructive and not just people arguing over the subject :)

Souja Boy gets my first vote, he's absolutely shocking.
Lil Wayne too, I dont hate his stuff but his rapping is shocking.
Vanilla Ice
-----------------
Dishonourable Mentions. (aka. personal opinions on other popular suggestions)
MC Hammer - Actually a very good rapper, I love the fact that even after all this time he remains positive with his rap.

P Diddy - Wish he'd never changed his name Puff Daddy sounded so much cooler, again very good.

Kanye West - Meh, he's not awful, I even like one of two songs but he's definately not a favourite.

Snoop Dogg - Whao? Snoop you kidding me? Oh wait no hang on Snoops been average at best since 2pac passed... In my opinion

Ill leave it at that for now :)

You think your making insightful observations of the rap genre, but your really as ignorant as any other boring hater.

Those beats are what saved Waka. He raps about the same **** but uses a ridicoulous amount of his own voice sample(he must record a 100 different variations of "wacka" for each track) to create a very tough and energetic sound. Its ****ing crunk to put it simply.

Flockavelli had its own sound, no doubt about it.

Do you know how broad of an adjective "energy" is for music? Music with no vocals can have good energy, your making me feel like some crazy hippy or something, "the energy maan", but i really don't understand why you can't grasp onto it.

When im describing wacka flocka music, its the culmination of the crazy crunk production, with the rapper screaming nonsense in a awesome effective way. "BITCH IM BUSTIN AT EM".

YouTube - Waka Flocka "Bustin At Em" (Official Video)

P.S. That ODB song you posted is pretty rad.

Needed to try to help. I watched the Flocka video. I agree about HIS energy being nothing amazing. What you respond with is that the combination of the 'crunk' beat and his "screaming" (he's not screaming, or yelling, or being loud; he's a lazy vocalist) goes hard. The beat is hard. It is. Strip that beat off and you'll hear for yourself. He's just talking, barely above talking volume like other dude said.

The song might go hard, the beat might go hard... but on that song, at least, Flame is lazy. It's not as bad as I imagined, but it's not hard. You just like him a lot. But I'm only trying to be logical here.
