Bow wow wow Lena Lovitch Punk isn't about what sex you are,its about raw sounds,attitude and what you have to say.Females are just as capable as males,i think it's just that more males get the breaks in the male dominated music industry. |

Some of you should listen to some of the old Riot Girl stuff from the Seattle/Washington area in the Mid-ninties. To anyone who doesn't know Riot Girl isnt a band but almost a hardcore punk subgenre or "scene" that was all based on feminism and empowerment. Some of it is really original and inspiring. Some good female punk singers come from bands like:
Stella Mars Erase Errata Sleater Kinney Pretty Girls Make Graves (If you want to consider them punk more than Indie)

It all just depends on the singer. If the female singer is good, she will make it, and if she isn't, she probably won't. I do think that guys have an easier time making it in the industry, but it all is just circumstances.
