All the female bands listed (except lavigne + duff) are punk. I think we should maybe look at the issue of there not being many good male punk bands. If we're talking about the likes of NOFX, bowling for soup, blink, good charlotte and new found glory then we should maybe look at how f*ckin awful their music is. None of the so called singers in these bands can sing.

If we're talking about the sex pistols.....they were awful and couldn't really play very much.

I'm trying to say, theres good punk and bad punk no mattter if they're male or female. If we're striving for sexual equality then we should stop putting "female" and "all girl" in front of the names of bands such as
the donnas (i kno they're not punk but you get the picture)

good female-fronted punk bands:
F-Minus, Nausea, Le Tigre (questionable on genre), and of course the distillers- which should have been the first group to come to everyones mind.
i dont even want to imagine how gwen stefani's name came up in a punk forum. once again...wow...

Did I fail o mention provoked? If I did kick me. Provoled have female vox and they are awsome.

the distillers<3 but i think punk bands are kinda pressured into having a guy singer, not that theres anything wrong with that;) but i think there should be more punk bands with female singers, when i make MY band, ill be the singer... somehow. i get REALLY nervous

girl punk and boy punk is equally good but as there is less female punk it sounds better when you hear it. btw, whoever said girls shouldn't have short hair - U SUCK!!! big time! I don't know if u realise it but you are sexist! Loads of boys have long hair and short hair on girls looks cool (as long as it's not the middle age frump baglady look) so shut the f*** up!!!

noo but she is definitely up there! I <3 Joan Jett along with brody dalle, but id deffo say gwen stefani wasnt punk, sorry guys, shes just --- not....shes cool though.
