Not sure why I haven't posted in this thread before but ummm.... *cough* Amy Miret (Nausea)? Pretty much the most attractive/most hardcore punk vocalist I can think of.

Never heard about that murder story concerning The Gits though, pretty crazy!

Shes certainly very unique looking. If I was to say anyone it would be Sarah Taylor from Conflict. I got to meet her once and at the time was the height of my adoration for crust girls. She was a looker and could really tear up a mic.

Agreed, she looked seriously hot back then. Great vocalist too. She doesn't seem to be involved in music anymore sadly.

I was sad to not see her be a part of the newest album that came out in January. She is linked to their facebook I believe, but I never go on facebook.

Throwing out Erica Freas from RVIVR. Always been a big fan of her voice, I find it preferable to Matt's but whatever. It's his band too. Has absolutely no weigh-in on her talent but damn, she's fine as hell too.

Not that it's easy to tell a vocalist's gender with music like this, screamy as ****. I'd put her up there with whatshisface from Saetia or any other notable screamo band's 99% male vocalists (what's up with that, anyways?). Not that this is screamo, per say.

It's been a major news story here since her body was found on Capitol Hill that summer of 1993. It was incredibly frustrating for many many years until the big break last year.

Cloud Rat is one of the best hardcore bands out there right now, ultrafast and heavy melodic grind/powerviolence with a lot of screamo influence. Madison is also super tight on vox.

I'd forgotten about CTTS, IWSMOFFY, and 1905! The other bands, haven't heard um. I don't listen to a lot of screamo but most of what I've seen and heard is dudes. Especially at shows? Almost always 90% dudes. Sausage fest. Although I guess that goes for plenty of other genres too, pop punk definitely not excluded.

I Would, etc., CTTS, and 1905 are great! I really like Jess Kamen's vocals from 1905 because she somehow retains the punk aesthetic even while shifting from melodic singing, to brittle screaming, to spoken word. Lindsey Leigh Harbor's vocals in most of I Would's songs are more ethereal, almost floating on top of their songs like her cello/violin playing. I'm not sure if she screams too much. The part where she first comes in during one of their early releases, "Chinese Freeze Tag," is something that really gets me every time.

Yeah, I feel bad for laughing since the post itself is gone and was quite possibly a joke, but it was pretty funny.

The late great Ari Up from The Slits, comes to mind and it almost goes with out saying, Siouxsie Sue....she of the Banshees, Patti Smith, Kathleen Hanna, Huggy Bear, Babes in Toyland, Sleater Kinney, Brody Dalle just bleeds punk and of course PJ Harvey. Oh and how could i forget Yoko Ono.

Oh yeah, throwin out Allison Mossheart formerly of Discount and now The Kills. I think she did some vocals with The Dead Weather, too? I'm not sure I haven't checked that band out.

That's a pop artist that makes the occasional third wave ska song.

She's the lead singer for the dead weather, with Jack doing backup vocals.

Discount is one of the few pop punk bands I like.

I love The Kills, although they're not so strictly punk (maybe artpunk or something, idk)

The Dead Weather is decidedly not a punk band (more hard rock/blues rock), but totally worth checking out.
