but my all time fav is kathleen hanna from bikini kill- they are my all time fav girl-fronted punk group. im telling you, you gotta check out Le Tigre- it's very melodic, pop/dance feminist punk. brody does not compare to hanna in my opinion

What is this with girls not being able to play adn bands and whatnot. this has gotta be the stupidest thing I've heard thus far involving this topic.
For starters whether punk chics suck or not at singing at least we always sound our gender unlike guys in 'punk bands' that have whiney voices and sound like girls or like they have every intention of avoiding puberty for as long as possible.
Groups like Simple Plan and what not.

At any rate, groups like Auf De Maur (although that ins't punk but is female lead) and the Distillers, No Doubt, Joan Jett for sure, Pat Benatar, The Rain Coats, Garbage and a ton of others.

i've heard a lot of people say they remind them of the casualties and it's weird cause i don't think they'd sound like them at all. on punkcore.com i think it said something like they won't be touring or something anytime soon so i'm just guessing its because they've split up for some reason and they might get back together again? I've read stuff about them splitting up off and on..so i have no idea. I really like them though. I wish i could have perfect hair like them too :(

A: Unfortunately, due to various reasons the Devotchkas are not playing together at the moment. It's unlikely that they will be touring or recording any new material any time soon. ^ well thats cause the first several pages of this topic include idiots talking about gwen stefani and avril lavigne. i have no problem with those two artists (in fact, i think they both deserve the fame they receive) but they are not punk , that should be obvious. last several pages, we've discussed many different female fronted punk bands- there are lots of them, and many are good.
