i wasnt insulting any bands at all. I was merely asking if anyone felt the same way as me. I prefer male punk singers over female singers and day, and by the looks of it, so do some other people. Im sorry if you feel so flusterd over a music forum, i was just stating my opinion.

Sorry dude, all those bands you just named suck horribly. The singers of those bands parents shouldve had alternative birth options including abortion. Chicks cant sing punk. They are pretty good at ska though. And whats the deal with if youre a chick singer for a punk band you havta look like a man. Short hair on the ladies is deffinitly not kool! The Horrorpops arent punk sillys! Theyre psychobilly. Thats how they get away with being good.

Thanks Yellow Card. By the way all those kids that are saying sh*t to you about Yellowcard not being punk, well they are not kool. If anyone has ever listened to Yellowcards 1st album they would know that they're punk rock. On the other hand since you cant have talent to be stereotypical punk rock I guess they aren't. You should check the the Austin Texas based all-female punk band The Applicators. You can download their stuff if you have limewire, but they might be on other mp3 pirating platforms. I used to think checks can't do punk. The girls make the Tsunami Bombs sound like Britney Spears. They are real punk with no pop pretension. Check them out, they've been around for years.

Not only is this outright sexism, but also musical intolerance. While music is trying to encourage diversity and acceptance, you're doing us a big favor by making a ridicule of yourself.

I can name a few bands with great 'chick' singers. Vice Squad, the Devotchkas, the Lunachicks...i won't go on. I bet the most you've heard of bands with female singers is Avril lavigne, as i see some people saying. and AVRIL SINGS POP for the thousandth time. just because someone dresses a certian way doesn't mean that's the type of music they play..

Well you do hear ALOT more guys singing punk but that doesnt mean that females can't partake in the music aswell and play a vital role in developing the genre further.

I personaly like girl singers better. There a very very welcome change from the evryday mudane punk guy singer. F-minus for example. I think the girls in the band have much much better singing partsa and voices than the guys. To what end? Is probobly my FAVORTIE chick fronted band though

Is that good enough? I know not all of those bands are always fronted by females, but all of them have a good amount of material played and or sang by females.

Devotchkas are my fav girl punk band.Nice list All Night Dinah. There are good girl singers out there, just not as many as guys

i wouldnt say gwen was a punk singer, she just tries for the look. As for Avril, dont get me started sorry to her fans... But there are good bands like i reckon Go Betty Go is pretty cool, but not so punk i spose.

I havent seen anyone mention Naked Aggression, in my opinion Kirsten is one of the best female vocalists around right now, along with the chick from Tsunami Bomb

All the female bands listed (except lavigne + duff) are punk. I think we should maybe look at the issue of there not being many good male punk bands. If we're talking about the likes of NOFX, bowling for soup, blink, good charlotte and new found glory then we should maybe look at how f*ckin awful their music is. None of the so called singers in these bands can sing.

If we're talking about the sex pistols.....they were awful and couldn't really play very much.

I'm trying to say, theres good punk and bad punk no mattter if they're male or female. If we're striving for sexual equality then we should stop putting "female" and "all girl" in front of the names of bands such as

the distillers<3 but i think punk bands are kinda pressured into having a guy singer, not that theres anything wrong with that;) but i think there should be more punk bands with female singers, when i make MY band, ill be the singer... somehow. i get REALLY nervous

girl punk and boy punk is equally good but as there is less female punk it sounds better when you hear it. btw, whoever said girls shouldn't have short hair - U SUCK!!! big time! I don't know if u realise it but you are sexist! Loads of boys have long hair and short hair on girls looks cool (as long as it's not the middle age frump baglady look) so shut the f*** up!!!
