Default Early 80s "Soldier of Fortune" Artist?

Hi,

I hope someone can help me find the artist behind this track. I'm pretty sure the name of it is "Soldier of Fortune" or something like that. It was on a mix tape a friend made for me around 1985 and he got a lot of material from MRR compilations such as Not So Quiet on the Western Front, Life Is Ugly So Why Not Kill Yourself, Let Them Eat Jellybeans, etc.

I can remember several lyrics, something like:
Soldier of fortune, fighting for a nation
Soldier of fortune ... degradation (?)
... a military whore ...
... there's no turning back ...
... with his back to the Union Jack ...

The vocals had a UK accent but I think it was too tame for The Exploited. If anyone has a clue what band and album this might be on, that'd be great. I really just want to hear it again!

Cheers,

Jason

Have no idea. Anything like Public Image or New Model Army? Maybe Billy Bragg though I guess he was more of a folkie?
